The cost for this pick is $116 with part of the proceeds ($10 from each) for this barrel being set aside to benefit the Loudoun Hunger Relief (http://www.loudounhunger.org), with a mission to address hunger in Loudoun County.
The Yoda themed souvenir sticker is a complement to the Old-Elk-Wan-Kenobi release. The Old Elk sits at 7 years old and 109.2 proof with a mash bill of 51% corn, 15% rye, 34% malted barley. This bourbon uses the sour mash process which leverages setback from the previous fermentation batch giving it a unique flavor. The rye and malt give it a nice hit of oak and brown spice on the nose, with dark cocoa, leather, and cherry notes. The sip will rest mid to back palate with a long finish, despite the relatively high rye content it is still an easy sipper with caramel, cinnamon, and baking spices. It has a slight peppery finish but pleasing overall. Definitely a good one to pour on a cold autumn evening.
